The University of Connecticut Finance Conference brings together leading academics to present innovative research and engage in high-level discussions across key areas of finance. Known for its rigorous, discussant-driven format, the conference serves as an important venue for advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration within the academic finance community.

The 2026 program reflects the breadth and dynamism of modern finance research. The papers included examine topics such as the definition, generation, and persistence of alpha; cost of equity; bankruptcy and corporate behavior; regulatory bias; corporate investment horizons; investor cognition; and the impact of AI in finance, highlighting both methodological innovation and practical relevance.

Paper Submission Information

APPLICATION TO SUBMIT FOR THE 2026 CONFERENCE IS NOW CLOSED

The finance faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Business invite interested researchers to submit papers to be considered for presentation and discussion at the 11th Annual University of Connecticut Finance Conference, May 12, 2026.

Unpublished empirical or theoretical papers in all areas of finance will be considered.

There is a $60 USD cost per submitted paper. There are no refunds.
Submitted papers will be reviewed by members of the conference program committee.

(If you are submitting multiple papers, you must complete this process for each paper.)

The deadline for submissions is January 12, 2026.
We will notify authors of accepted papers by the end of February, 2026.

For presenters and discussants only, we will pay for up to two nights' stay at the Conference hotel.

If you wish to attend the conference, but are neither a paper presenter nor a discussant, please email Ashley Slater at finance.business@uconn.edu.

We will accommodate as many such requests as possible.
